It sounds like you are looking for books on specific cultures that would be aimed at a younger audience. Those resources would be located in the Instructional Materials Center (IMC), which is on the second floor of Bailey Library. The IMC includes nonfiction books on different cultures. For example, for books on Chinese and Korean culture, the call number would begin with 951, though there are books on many different cultures in this general area of the collection.
If you would like to search the library catalog for specific books prior to visiting the library, you can do so by visiting the Bailey Library homepage and clicking on Search Our Catalog in the left navigation menu. This will take you to the main page of the catalog. To limit your search to only IMC resources, click on Search Limits on the right side of the screen. From there, in the location field, click on IMC and then Set Search Limits. On the main catalog screen, you can do a keyword search - for example, if you enter the words China AND culture in the search box (with AND in between them) and then choose Keyword Boolean Search from the menu, you will find results for both keywords that are located in the IMC. A librarian can also help you search for books when you visit the library.
Currently the IMC books are shelved in the back of the second floor and may be confusing to locate due to our renovations this summer. A librarian will be available until 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, so please ask for the librarian at the Research Services information desk on the first floor and someone will be able to help you.
